About the editor and photographer
Editor, Barbara Ballenger
Barbara joined Catholic Relief Services' Community Engagement Department in 2002 to develop and write grassroots advocacy materials. She is now a consultant for the agency. Barbara, who has a background in pastoral ministry, journalism and grassroots advocacy, envisioned Prayer Without Borders as a means for people in the United States to stand on common ground with the people that CRS' serves overseas. The book invites the reader to experience the dignity of people striving for justice and peace in the developing world and to stand in solidarity with them.
The project benefited greatly from the assistance of Gabe Huck, former director of Liturgical Training Publications, who served as a creative consultant on the project.
